MBA in Finance and Accounting is a specialized postgraduate course under the Department of Commerce, Lucknow University where the admission procedure is transparent and based on merit with a mix of performance in Lucknow University Management Entrance Test (LUMET) and an interview.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to become eligible for admission where an aspirant needs to meet the following requirements which is given below:

  • Applicants must hold a three or four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any subject from a recognized institution or university as per required.
  • Should have obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam (Relaxation to 45% for SC/ST candidates as per government norms).
  • Graduation final year students also can apply but should comply with the eligibility requirements at the time of admission.

Admission Procedure

Admission is done in two phases which is given below:

Phase 1: Lucknow University Management Entrance Test (LUMET)

  • LUMET is a merit-based written test held by the University of Lucknow.
  • The test consists of 100 objective-type questions to be solved in 90 minutes.
  • There are 2 marks for each question. There is no negative marking for incorrect or unattempted responses.
  • The test is planned to evaluate candidates in the following fields:

            General Awareness

            English Verbal Ability and Comprehension

            Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

            Quantitative Aptitude

Phase 2: Personal Interview

  • All the test appearing candidates for LUMET are also mandatory to face a personal interview (PI) by the University.
  • The PI tests the candidate’s communication skills, subject understanding, career goals, and overall personality.

Weightage of Components in Final Merit List

  • The final selection will be done on a combined merit score as given below:

LUMET (Written Test) – 70% weightage

Personal Interview (PI) – 30% weightage

  • A merit list combining all candidates who have appeared for the PI shall be put up on the official University website.

 Application Procedure

  • Go to the MBA Admission Portal and register with a valid email address and phone number.
  • Enter the online application form with all compulsory details and documents.
  • Pay the application fee online and submit the form within the deadline.
  • Download and retain a copy of the completed form and payment receipt for future use.
